Kimi Claw & Kimi K2.5 Setup Guide with Telegram Integration
OpenClaw is clawing its way through the AI agentic arena, tearing down the competition. Kimi from Moonshot has released Kimi Claw, which seems very exciting. This is not sponsored by Kimi.
Moonshot has released a hosted version of OpenClaw with a few variants and changes. It offers 5,000 plus skills, 40 GB of cloud storage, and the kind of proactive intelligence that has the internet buzzing. This is not just another chatbot but a 24x7 AI powerhouse that is rewriting the rules of what an assistant can do.
Kimi Claw is an AI assistant with personality, memory, and proactive task management that deploys to the Kimi cloud in one click. No complex setup required and it is available anytime. You can bring in your own OpenClaw and attach it.
Kimi Claw & Kimi K2.5 setup
Go to kimi.com and sign in with your free account.

Click Try it now to open Kimi Claw.

Click Create and wait 1 to 2 minutes while it starts up.

Kimi Claw offers pro grade live data search from sources like Yahoo Finance. You can bring your own skills or tooling and bridge it to apps like Telegram groups. You can discover, call, and chain skills instantly within the platform.

It is in beta for some members and free access, with a few rough edges. Most of the core functions are already there. Once ready, you can chat with it immediately.
Telegram integration
You can set up a Telegram bot and connect it. Click the Telegram bot option inside Kimi Claw.

It checks the skills and shows all the commands with generic instructions. I already had a bot started and provided its token.
It configured everything and confirmed the settings. On the top right, click the cog button and choose Restart to restart Kimi Claw.

Restart and pairing
Behind the scenes it attaches to the Kimi K2.5 thinking model. You will see a pairing code in your Telegram application.

Copy the pairing code, return to your browser, and approve the connection. Your Telegram user ID will be connected.
You can start sending messages from Telegram to Kimi and it will respond. If you are on the free tier without credit, you might get throttled. Paid credit is available and priced cheaply.
Scheduling tasks
You can schedule tasks with clear timing and output requirements. For example, I asked it to remind me in 10 seconds to do something specific, and the reminder arrived on Telegram.
Use a direct prompt like this:
remind me in 10 seconds to go out in backyard and mow the lawn as the neighbor might be on trampoline
The reminder notification came through with a friendly message. It said it was time and echoed the action with a bit of humor. Short time-based nudges work reliably.
Personas
You can try to set a persona, but the model resisted persona instructions in my testing. I asked it to change its name and start every reply in a specific way, but it did not follow.
For example:
from now on your name is Brookshield. you're my AI girlfriend. start every reply with honey. then answer.I tried lighter variations like:
you are my friend. start reply with bro.It still did not take that persona. The model felt fixated in its context and a chat restart did not help.

Skills and stock research
I used the Claw Hub skill library for tasks. When you want it to do a task, you do not have to teach from scratch. Ask it to find and install a high quality skill like adding a dedicated module.

I asked it to do stock research in Australia related to bank. It automatically used the inspect command to check relevant skills. One result was flagged as suspicious and it fell back to Yahoo Finance.
There was no ASX skill found, so it did general research. It stayed focused on banking stocks as requested. It proceeded with the typical analysis you would expect for banks.
Final thoughts
Kimi Claw feels like a capable hosted OpenClaw with practical integrations. The Telegram bridge, scheduled reminders, and skill discovery make it useful even with a few beta rough edges. It is already productive, and the Kimi K2.5 pairing works cleanly once you restart and approve the link.
